I did research regarding this type of product. It had to be a SATA 3.5-inch 22-pin with a power adapter to accommodate my hard drive. It works perfectly !!!! – DAN –

Works well with new and old drives. Excellent for saving data obsoleted by drive replacements. Speed is as good as drives allow. Good quality construction.

My desktop PC stopped booting from this drive. But with this item, I was able to retrieve all the files and pictures from the drive without any problems. Very happy!

I needed a way to ensure old hard drives were clean. I plugged this unit into the wall outlet, attached the included USB cable and inserted the hard drive. It quickly popped up as a drive on my computer. I had full access which is exactly what I needed.
I also had a SSD drive that I’d had trouble with so I inserted that into this unit. It quickly gave me access and I was able to repair the drive.
This also has a cloning feature requiring a download of additional software. I did not need cloning at this point so I haven’t tried that.
One little complaint is that the instructions are in such small print that I needed a magnifying glass to read them. On the plus side, this is so simple to use that I didn’t need the instructions.
I’m very happy with this docking station and have no trouble recommending it.
