These refrigerator/freezer locks work well. They do what they are supposed to, keep the doors close and prevent little ones from opening them.

I like how easy they are to install and can be a little challenging to open, but it’s worth it to ensure that they will keep things closed. The difficulty in opening these locks is what brought them down one star.

Overall, for the price (less than $10 when I reviewed them), they are worth it and I recommend them.

We have a white refrigerator so it works well and is better hidden. Wouldn’t buy if you have a stainless steel fridge. It’s quite bulky. It does lock and unlock easily when you pinch though. It was super easy to install and is doing the job well. The tiny one hasn’t figured out how to break into the fridge yet.

This refrigerator lock set is working decently so far. Find the right spot where door pressure from pulling would be, clean the area, and attach the assembled lock with the release papers removed.

The Lock holds in place on its own and gapped enough for the magnetic area around the refrigerator door to keep closed and sealed as normal. Pulling on the door with lower strength rating shows the door is able to keep closed when smaller hands or pets would try to open the door.

It does take an extra moment and a little more effort to squeeze the lock to open the door, but it can be worth it to prevent it from being opened when it shouldn’t, and can help with preventing the doors/drawers from being left open to ruin the refrigerator contents.

The locks also work with just using one on the side of a bottom freezer pullout drawer, pulling on the handle like normal will still allow the opposite side to open slightly, but not enough to reach in, and will allow the drawer to close normally on its own.

Having these locks installed on the refrigerator doors also give a satisfying and reassuring click sound when the door closes. It could be a good idea to post a note on the refrigerator on the location of the locks in case you forget about them or to let other people know where they are if they do not know about the locks and prevent accidents from happening.

My LO is now starting to go into every cabinet/door there is in the house and it can be quite something. he recently learned to open the fridge so this came in handy. its strong adhesive stuck well to the fridge and it’s easy to lock and unlock it. this is great to have when our freezer is full of stuff from our monthly groceries trip and it wont close. seems like it will be easy to take off later on down the road.

I’ve used locks with similar designs in the past, and although I think it’s by far the best mechanism for ensuring the fridge actually stays closed unless an adult intentionally opens it, I find this particular model to be difficult enough to open that it’s not a favorite. In terms of the good, installation is a breeze (just make sure the two sides are connected, peel the backing off the adhesive, and stick to your closed fridge/cabinet so that one side is on the base and one is on the door), and the adhesive holds impressively well but also peels off surprisingly easily when I need it to and leaves zero trace. The main downside with this is with the unlocking part though. I open and close my fridge constantly, but it’s a crappy rental fridge, and the seal isn’t great and can easily pop open without me noticing, so I need something to ensure that it’s really shut but unlocks easily each time I need it to. This requires you to pinch specific spots on either side of the lock, which forces little dowels to clear the slots that usually hold them in place. Unfortunately, even though I’d say I have pretty solid finger strength/dexterity, it often takes me a few tries to get both dowels to clear the lock and open up. It would be no big deal for a deep freezer or some other kind of cabinet/trunk that I rarely access, but for my main, high-traffic kitchen fridge, it’s too cumbersome.

These are functional and stay on decently with 3m tape. The only issues I’ve come across: it is hard to open. Why is this an issue when that’s what it’s supposed to do? Because those who do not have the hand strength may not be able to use this. Also, because this is hard to open, when one wakes up thirsty in the middle of the night, one may end up fighting the fridge!
Overall, this does work and holds well!

The HEOATH Child Proof Refrigerator Fridge Freezer Door Lock is overall a decent design. I found it to be a bit of a challenge to release the latch because one side would not depress quite far enough not to catch. I expect this might get easier over time as it gets used and depressed enough times. For this reason it’s important you line things up carefully during the installation to center the latch with the catch as much as possible and avoid 1 side getting caught. They are a bit bulky and I wish the latch bar had a hinge to swing it out of the way and prevent latching if desired, as it is the only way to stop having to unlatch your door every time is to remove one side of the device. Still they work pretty well for their purpose.

This seems like it will get the job done just fine. You have to squeeze the connector piece on top and bottom to release the lock as you pull the door open. No special action needed to lock out again, since the action of shutting the door causes it to lock — unlike a typical cabinet strap where you have to reassemble the lock again after you close the cabinet. You have to really depress the buttons completely to get it to open. Build quality seems adequate, but only time will tell for sure. Hopefully it removed without issue once we’re done with it. The usual advice is to heat it with a blow dryer. Fingers crossed for when that day comes. But overall it seems like a perfectly reasonable product.
