I was so excited to get this! It works so well, it gives you ice in about 13 minutes from the time you turn it on and get ready for the ice. They have you a cute little ice bag too! I loved that ice bag but it did rip down the side unfortunately as soon as I tried to open it up. It works really well though and I like that it has a basket to empty out and a scoop to also get the ice out. I can’t stand hands in my ice. It’s gross! So they take away that problem by providing that’s scoop.

Machine produces nice size smaller chunks of ice. It took a few times of use to get it producing correctly, could have been user error. Makes enough for 4 or so people.

I was very leery of this ice maker because of the diversity of reviews. I was given a name brand counter top ice maker for Christmas and we loved the nugget size cube and the amount it produced daily. But it made a horrendous screeching noise most of the time, it was a lot of work to clean and it did not fit under the counter. I’ve tried 7 different ice cube trays in the mean time and my freezer is always full of trays.
What I like about the Antarctic Star is that it fits well under the counter and can even sit out when not in use. It’s quiet, it’s a snap to clean, it’s easy to operate and I’ve just gained some prime real estate in my freezer. It comes with an ice bag to dump the finished ice into, but I use a plastic box. One thing that concerned other reviewers is that the ice is wet when you dump it so it tends to freeze together in storage. I simply knock my box of ice on the counter and they loosen enough to use easily. I wish that the Users Guide had more relevant information. The automatic self-cleaning program needs a better explanation. A troubleshooting solution mentions “Select the small-size ice cube selection.” Nowhere else in the manual or on the maker does it show a cube size selection. You’ll get the gist of running the machine but the manual is poorly written. I will probably run this every 2 or 3 days and hope it lasts longer than the average complaint of it dying after 4 mos. I will update with any concerns.

This is a nice ice maker for a counter top model. It is fast at making ice and before you know it, you have filled up a bin in your freezer. It is easy to clean and all the moving parts are well made and the whole set up is how you want it to be.
The price is comparable to others and the quick time it makes ice tell the quality of this machine.
I would recommend this to others.

Only complaint is that the ice recycles its self as it melts . They’re isn’t anything keeping it cold so it continues to make ice til it melts . The bin doesn’t hold much , maybe enough for one drink at a time . The ice is nice though. I really like how it comes out . The shape is cool . Overall it’s a big space hog for the small amount of ice it makes. It does generate fast once you empty it . I’d say under 10 mins .

This ice making machine is not only fast, but quiet while on the job. Amazingly, our experience was that it delivers about nine ice cubes every nine minutes. It just keeps going until it runs out of water, or the receiving basket fills up. An L.E.D. display reminds us of when to add water. Getting it going is straight-forward. Add water and press a button. That’s it. In a few minutes the initial ice cubes appear. Could not be easier. It’s fairly small, so we just place it on our kitchen counter. The kids love having easy access to ice when they want it, and we grown-ups are pleased about having 24-hour ice available as well. It’s a quick, quiet, quality ice maker!

This is a decent ice maker that makes 9 bullet shaped pieces of ice per batch in under 10 minutes. The first time you use this machine, it might take longer to make ice. I timed it making the first batch of 9 cubes in around 8-9 minutes. The next few batches it seemed to make it faster in about 6-7 minutes. The manual mentions that you can speed up the ice maker by changing the size of the ice cubes from large to small but there are no instructions on how to do that and there are no buttons anywhere to indicate that a size option is even available. So my guess is there is only one size of ice.
This countertop ice maker is relatively quiet while it’s running. You can let it run for as long as there is enough water in it and it should fill up on its own without much effort. There’s nothing keeping the ice cubes from melting however so this ice maker will just recycle the water to keep making ice if you don’t get the ice out before it melts. There is a sensor that will sense whether there is enough water to make ice. If there’s not enough water, the Add Water icon will blink to alert you to add more water before the machine will continue to make ice.
There’s also a self cleaning function where you hold down on the On/Off button for 5 seconds and the Add Water and Ice Full icons will alternate flashing back and forth to let you know it’s cleaning. I ran the self cleaning function but it lasted more than 15 minutes. There’s a drain plug beneath the ice maker where you would be able to release the water from this ice maker once the cleaning function is done or for when you’re done making ice.
The ice basket holds the ice that is made and there’s a small scoop that can be used to scoop out the ice. A small ice bag is also provided but I didn’t need to use it.
The quality of the ice is actually quite nice! It looks clean and clear and the bullet shape also looks nicer than typical cubed ice. The ice tasted clean which is also very important.
This countertop ice maker is not too large but it still takes up a bit of space if you’re limited on counter space. The handle is handy which makes this a portable unit as well so that you can take it with you for outdoor gatherings or RV trips.
Overall, this feels like a nice counter top ice maker and it’ll come in handy for us since our fridge doesn’t make ice. Hopefully this will last for a while!
