The machine I got first looked like it was already returned by someone so I sent it back and left a bad review here. I was told by customer service that they would send out a new unit and they did just that. I have had my new ice maker for almost one and a half years and I’m back to give a new review. I use this ice maker three or four days a week and I have not had a single problem. this machine makes beautiful clear long lasting ice. I have found that if you keep this machine clean and dry in between uses you will get the same results every time.

While I agree with most of the reviews here, there are some concerns. The biggest one is cleaning. After you are done making ice be sure to drain any excess water. If it sits it will become murky. The water reservior is particularly difficult to clean because its hard to fit you hand in to wipe it down. Both this reservior and the front ” ice recieving area” have plenty of sharp or unusual corners that its tough to get to. The manufacturer recommends once a week (!) cleaning which is a huge amount of cleaning compared to any other device you may have on your kitchen countertop.

first before you even attempt to make ice with it you need to make a serious effort in cleaning it. way past the level of hand washing, i must have hand washed it 5 or 6 times until the water would reach the bottom from the reservoir at the top … mosstly clear. it wasnt until i got frustrated and plastic wrapped the vents on the sides of the machine and took it outside and blasted the reservoir with the hose on full blast for a couple mins that i got all the stuff that would wash out that was left inside from production. it was alot.
it is a nice little icemaker i have no issue with its performance. but you should be aware of how much heat it puts out while it is running. i was using mine during summertime to cool my drinks but it was making my bedroom (11 x 11 feet) way hotter since it was adding heat to an already hot day. this was obviously my own fault as i should have considered it (im an idiot) but its something you might want to consider. without a/c or alot of space for the heat to dissipate you might run into a similar problem
